History

To start a company that aims to work around traditional views of marketing and public relations requires a visionary leader.

Thirteen years ago a young man with a fresh take on public relations and marketing founded Medios. Today, Jacques van den Bergh employs four graduates with backgrounds in marketing, public relations and journalism.

Medios currently handles five public relations- and marketing portfolios. Safilo South Africa, Selected Energy, Namaste Laboratories USA, The First Tech Group and QBCon all rely on Medios to make their companies visible where it is most beneficial.

 

Evolution

Medios has evolved from a public relations agency specialising in the fashion and beauty industry to a marketing communications innovation and implementation house.

Listening to our clients and staff, have allowed us to change our service offering to better resolve the marketing needs of our clients.  Five years ago Medios took a long hard look at it client base and found that it provided the greatest benefit to SMBs of between R30 – R150 million in turnover.  These clients generally wanted help with strategic marketing while at the same time needing to outsource the implementation of their marketing strategies.

We found that clients just wanted marketing to happen according to where they want to go and within the budget they agreed to. In other words our clients wanted help choosing a vehicle that would take them to their destination. They didn’t want to deal with the paper work or have to work on the engine, or in the petrol and change the tyres.

Medios fits the bill perfectly with its team of graduates who can interpret and implement the strategies designed with the client. 

An open management style has further allowed Medios to develop innovative communication strategies and increase the communication arsenal available to its clients. These include social media, SEO, above the line, below the line, pr and events.

Medios continues to grow its skill set and capacity.  It now offers bespoke ad hoc services such as writing and design. Taking the earlier analogy further, Medios now has a service centre for those clients who prefer to look after their own cars. Medios is level 4 BEE contributor.
