Sometimes it's hard to tell what makes an advertisement successful. Many brilliant advertisements aren't very effective because the message isn't conveyd clearly enough. It took a while to understand where Vodacom was going with this advertisement, until they started encouraging users to submit their own dance moves. Suddenly a normal television advertisement became the basis for an interactive brand experience, making this campaign hugely successful. And even the most cynical among us have to admit that it is pretty damn funny.
